Welcome

Pine Family Tree

I love genealogy. More specifically I love family history, I love the stories and the lives of the people I've discovered in my family, I love finding the roots of my existence, learning how I got here, who I am.

Years ago when I was very young I watched my mother working on her family history, at that time it looked like work and it was boring, all that writing and books and mailing, it just looked like something I would never be interested in. I never was a good student, never liked homework, but a seed was planted back then that would sprout and blossom in the years to come.

Sometime in the 1990's my dear Uncle Larry Pine came to Texas for a visit and brought with him some research he was doing on our family, it was fascinating stuff and that seed that was planted years ago began to sprout. I started doing 'genealogy'.

The picture above represents a sunrise, not a sunset, but a sunrise. I like to think it was the first sunrise Adam and Eve witnessed when they began the family of man. I believe we are all related thanks to them.

I hope you enjoy the site, and even more I hope it helps you in your research. Everything is free and it gives me great joy to share what I have. Credit goes to others of course who have contributed. Families are important, individuals are important, every person who has ever lived is important and each has a story.

This is a single surname site, mostly researching the descendants of Robert Pine of Monroe County. It is a very large family now, much has been discovered but there is more out there to discover. Robert is the first Pine in America, in other words, the line goes back to him. Some have claimed they know who his parents were in Ireland but I haven't seen clear proof of it yet. As his descendent, I owe much to him for coming to America and making it possible for me to have been born an American, and to my father, my grandfather, my great grandfather, I owe them my very existence, thank you!
